Professional Development Plan

2011

  • Interview to be hired as a professional librarian.
  • Publish an article on library’s Earth Day programs in either American Libraries or College & Research Library News.
  • Seek training and professional development opportunities for staff in Serials Unit.

2012

  • Attend first American Library Association (ALA) conference, whether Annual or Midwinter.
  • Publish an article about the Library Lecture Series at the Z. Smith Reynolds Library with lecture series co-chair.
  • Become an active participant on a committee/roundtable of the North Carolina Library Association (NCLA).

2013

  • Seek an elected position on the board of the North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG).
  • Present a session at the annual North Carolina Serials Conference.
  • Publish an article about first generation college students and library services at Wake Forest University.

2014

  • Attend an ALA conference, whether Annual or Midwinter.
  • Join a committee of ALA.
  • Seek an elected position on the executive board of NCLA.

2015

  • Publish a book or book chapter regarding library services.
  • Seek a position as the head of a library department.
  • Return to graduate school for a second master’s degree (in either history or liberal studies) or a doctorate (in library science).
