About me

I’m Christian Joel Burris, and I’m a graduate of the Library and Information Studies program at UNCG as of May 2011.  Although I began the program in the Spring of 2008, I have been working in libraries since January 1994.  I was not certain if librarianship would become my career, but I found the work to be an extension of my loves of learning, information and technology that I have had since childhood.

Currently, I’m the Head of Serials Acquisitions for the Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University.  I’m not sure where the next phase of my career will take me, but it should be a wonderful journey.

Four random facts about me:

  1. I’m an Irish twin.
  2. I have a second degree black belt in taekwondo.
  3. I began studying Russian when I was thirteen years old.
  4. I broke my right leg in eighth grade, and I wore a cast for three months to allow it to heal.
